BADBADNOTGOOD

Talk Memory

Canadian trio BADBADNOTGOOD continue their flawless run with the release of their latest, Talk Memory. If you’re not familiar, BBNG first rose to prominence through some widely circulated jazz covers of hip-hop classics. Since then, they’ve released several solo albums and collaborated with rappers ranging from Ghostface Killah to Mick Jenkins.

Talk Memory finds them stepping back to their instrumental roots and collaborating with a choice selection of musicians who’ve helped inform their sound, including Brazilian composer and singer Arthur Verocai, as well as musicians Karriem Riggins, Laraaji and Terrace Martin. The album also seeks to capture the improvisational energy BBNG have become known for during their epic live performances. Created over the course of two years, it’s the group’s most intentional and grand composition to date, eight sweeping tracks that show the band really stretching their limits.
