Short on length but heavy on impact, Portland musician Harra’s debut Day Moon EP is a sonically rich soundscape of moving, other-worldly dream pop music. Opening track “Driving on Ambien” kicks things off with a gentle harp strum that slowly builds to a peaceful crescendo, while “Hurry” utilizes reverberating acoustic loops that float in and out to profound effect. Closing track “Power Windows” is a lilting power pop number that brings Jai Paul to mind, backed by smooth synth melodies and complete with a sumptuous keyboard solo that ends the EP on a high note. In the end, Day Moon is a lively listen that leaves you yearning for more, an evocative debut from an artist I can’t wait to hear more from.
