After an extended hiatus, Leeds producer Iglew returns with Light Armour, an EP of beautifully textured, slow building UK bass music. Fitting with the milieu of FACTA and K-Lone’s Wisdom Teeth label on which it’s released, Light Armour is a sublime listen all the way through, a shimmering mix of mutant UK techno and synthy experimental melodies that are deep and meditative. The whole thing is exquisite and my pick of the bunch is “Hawksworth Woods,” a xylophonic ambient number that sounds like a cross between Four Tet and Pantha du Prince.
