Multi-instrumentalist Stimulator Jones’ sophomore album is packed with good energy and a wide range of styles. Jones writes and plays the vast majority of the tunes, an impressive feat in its own right; but his dexterity is what makes La Mano really stand apart, as he deftly navigates between styles and influences, jumping from meandering spiritual jazz to straight-ahead funk to dub-heavy soul. A well-rounded album and a fun listen.
