Keeping fans on their toes, multi-instrumentalist/producer/songwriter and all around musical renaissance man Stimulator Jones returns with his second album of the year. While his other 2021 album, La Mano, saw Jones becoming a one-man-band to create funk- and jazz-fuelled instrumentals, Low Budget Environments Striving For Perfection is a collection of hip-hop beats Stimulator Jones has been creating since getting his first sampler as a teenager.
Described by Jones as “tape hiss, turntables and THC,” Low Budget Environments Striving For Perfection is a timeless beat tape – all loops, and groove-heavy, no frills head nodders that set a very specific mood. Jones was born, raised and still resides in Roanoke, Virginia and living among nature helped inspire the album’s classic, un-trendy sound (this bucolic surroundings also inspired the cover art, depicting a largemouth bass, mushroom and pig). The whole thing is a perfect vibe through and through and has been on repeat for the past few months.
