Cardiff-based Producer & DJ Don Leisure is back with a follow up to his 2017 Shaboo album. Five years on, Don returns with the loose sequel Shaboo Strikes Back, a diverse beat tape blending world-infused samples and 90s East Coast boom bap. Building on the riffs and vibes of the Shaboo album, Shaboo Strikes Back presents 25 tracks of psychedelic samples and hazy beats that take us on a journey into sound. Here we see Don Leisure further explore his love for jazz, hip-hop, reggae and Bollywood, crafting an eclectic album with surprises around every corner. Guests include Gruff Rhys, who provides vocals on “Neon Drizzle (Hotel Shaboo),” and multi-instrumentalist Angel Bat Dawid and the extraordinary jazz harpist Amanda Whiting, who feature on stand-out track “All Praises Due.”
