With Darth Sueder VI, AJ Suede proves he’s one to watch in a Seattle rap scene which also gave rise to fellow iconoclasts like Shabazz Palaces and Nacho Picasso. The beats (produced entirely by Suede himself) are lush, somber and soulful, providing a fresh palette for Suede’s conceptual flow. A welcome addition to the experimental rap sound being spearheaded by rappers like Navy Blue and billy woods.
